MBSS provides direct barging services for the transportation of bulk mining materials, especially coal, from loading port to unloading port and also from loading port to anchorage point within Indonesia and across countries in the region. MBSS owns and operates 76 owned barges as well as operates several barges which are rented from third parties to meet its clients’ needs.
The barges in use ranged in size from 250 feet to 365 feet. The entire MBSS barge fleet fulfills Indonesian Classification Bureau requirements, and the majority also meets the requirements of global classification societies namely Registro Italiano Navale (RINA), Bureau Veritas (BV), Nipon Kaiji Kyokai (NK), ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) and Germanischer Lloyd (GL).

MBSS has a fleet of Floating Cranes consisting of single and double cranes with capacity 18,000 tons per day (tpd) to 24,000 tpd, as well as Floating Loading Facilities with conveyor belt system and metal detector using a double crane with capacity of 50,000 tpd. This fleet carries out transshipment of bulk materials from barges and transfers them to the anchored motor vessel for transshipment.
The entire MBSS floating cranes fleet fulfills Indonesian Classification Bureau requirements, and the majority also meets meets the requirements of global classification societies namely Registro Italiano Navale (RINA), Bureau Veritas (BV), Nipon Kaiji Kyokai (NK), ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) dan Germanischer Lloyd (GL).

MBSS is also part of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).
